2018 IEBC Accessibility for Existing Buildings

This seminar will introduce critical concepts of the 2018 International Existing Building Code® (IEBC®) as it pertains to accessibility. Accessibility provisions apply across all compliance options in the IEBC. This class will focus on issues of how repairs, alterations, additions and changes of use affect the application of the access provisions. Some of the primary topics include:
 Understanding the limits where the access provisions apply,
 How a primary function area can affect scoping requirement,
 How to count dwelling units to determine requirements,
 How the IEBC exceeds Fair Housing of altered elements,
 Altering restrooms or using a family/assisted-use restroom.

2018 IBC Accessibility & Usability for Commercial and Residential Buildings
ICC .6 CEU & AIA-HSW 6 hrs
Lunch Provided
This seminar focuses on the minimum requirements for new or existing construction of accessible commercial buildings and residential facilities for compliance with the International Building Code® (IBC®) and ICC A117.1 Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities. It addresses the design, plan review and inspection of residential building and facilities to ensure that people with physical impairments, visual impairments and hearing impairments can use the facilities.
